There was a group on Facebook that posed the challenge to dress "femme" for 30 days: 30 Days of Fetching Femmes. You were supposed to take a photo of yourself looking femme, and post it to the group while describing your outfit. I don't know if I necessarily identify as femme, but I sometimes like to wear pretty dresses! I was a bit intimidated to participate in the group, but I did my own version, highlighting all of my "accessories."
This is my typical getup. Clockwise:
- The Motodiva Specialized mountain shoes clipped into my Time Atacs. I wouldn't recommend these shoes for heavy mtb/ cx use because the tight area between the cleat and sole platform collects mud, but maybe if you use Crank Bros. pedals it is less of an issue? Also, the ratchet kind of sucks.
- My accessories. "Live free or drive." That bell is a copper bell from Japan, purchased at Calhoun Cycle, and it makes one of my favorite sounds in the world. I'm not sure if you can see it, but my stem cap is a queen. She's the masthead to my cockpit. Computer and lights, because.
- Dress with frilly sleeves and pockets, with shorts underneath.
- My most aero 'do, the side braid. Paired with a Lazer Genesis helmet and wool cap.
Not pictured: Purple leopard sunglasses.
