2012 Goals
I don't make "resolutions" every year, but I always try to focus on a few straight-forward goals.
What are your 2012 goals, bike-related or ?
If your goal is to become more independent through riding your bike and learning more about your machine... We may be able to help!
Looking back, I realized I posted my 2011 goals and the results are not too shabby.
- Get the word out about Grease Rag
- Become more involved with the Grease Rag blog with the purpose of creating a community and a WTF resource online
- Ride my bike more
- More bike camping/ bike touring
- Build a wheelset
The number of participants attending the Uptown Grease Rag has leveled off, the attendance at the U of M Grease Rag is steadily growing, and Grease Rag Northeast is slowly procuring some regulars. We have more people reading the blog than ever before, and new friends are joining the Facebook Group all the time. Does it feel like a community? I think so!
Every year I want to ride more than the year before! I started out strong but gosh I got lazy. I can't believe that I did not do a better job of utilizing the clear roads into December! I rode more than last year (guesstimating) but let's just say I'm leaving some room for improvement in 2012.
More bike camping/ touring... CHECK! I did my pizza farm trifecta trip, I went to my friend's farm in WI, with a side trip here and a side trip there. I want more!
Highly supervised (by Jamie McDonald) I built wheelsets. Plural, in case you missed that. ;]
What are my 2012 goals? More of the same with a few variations.
- Make Grease Rag friendlier to our transgender and gender variant cyclists
- Learn how to get more of our blog and Facebook friends to come to events and rides
- Ride my bike more
- More bike camping/ bike touring
- Diversify my rides- I love my Bianchi, but I want to fall back in love with my single speed and maybe even try, gulp, mountain biking
