These are free online programs and resources that I use as a cyclist in the Twin Cities. A general list of helpful links for biking in the metro area can be found on the Metro Transit website and includes information on bicycles on trains and buses, bike lockers, maps, and a list of bicycle shops: http://metrotransit.org/bike/resources.asp

This next Thursday, November 19 will be our Winter Maintenance Session of Grease Rag. We are planning on meeting up at the shop at 7, having a few short demonstrations, and the rest of the time will be open for any work that you need to accomplish. There will be refreshments! Please sound off and let us know if you'd like to share your expertise or if you plan on coming so we can negotiate space and treats.
- Shayne will be giving a demo on how to clean and maintain your bike this winter
- Alex will be giving us tips about safety and road rules
- Margot will teach us how to keep our bodies warm
- Kat will talk to us about tires and fenders
Girls Gone Grumpy Bicycle Ride- Winter Edition
Girls, get grumpy (for the 5th time) on November 7th.
This is a leisure ride from Grumpy's NE to Grumpy's Roseville and back in celebration of bikes, bitches, and beer. It will be the first cold GGG ride, so dress stylishly warm.
Dudes are welcome to join, but skirts are required and will be strictly enforced (there may just be a contest...).
We'll be rolling out at high noon (that's 1:00pm, kids), so show your face before then.
The weather looks like it is going to be perfect, I hope to see some of you at this ride!
We officially have a schedule of events for the rest of 2009- check out our fliers around town (if you would like to take some and hand them out or put them up, please email email@example.com)
11/19- Winter Maintenance Class
Depending on class attendance,
these events may be postponed until Spring '10.
Upcoming schedule for Grease Rag Events:
Thursday, August 20th @ 7pm
Thursday, September 3rd @ 7pm (Only if someone volunteers to organize it. I will be out of town!)
Thursday, September 17th @ 7pm
Thursday, October 1st @ 7pm
I am about to leave for my adventures, however, Jamie has volunteered to continue sponsoring Grease Rag for those of you who would like to keep it going. Some of you have expressed interest in the website, others in the ride, and Jamie says he is more than happy to do the teaching part of it. It would be great if we could keep this going! What we need is a group or even an individual willing to take on the organizing. If we could get posts and writing from several people online and have one person in charge of the Ride/Event then it would be pretty amazing! Organizing the Ride and Wrench night is about as difficult as letting Jamie know which night it is and showing up to lead a ride and get people's information when they come. And I know there are plenty of bloggers out there who like to write for fun!
