Cinco de Mayo*!

I love Julie Andrews. "Lusty Month of May" from Lerner & Loewe's Camelot. (Thanks for posting this, Justin!) I can't wait until it actually feels like lusty May here... I want to be flipped in the air with a big piece of fabric with flowers in my hair! I want to sit on a swing while barefoot! I trust you will join me, Sprites of Spring, in a merry dance around the May pole?
Until it starts feeling like May... we'll just have to make do with bike rides in cool weather with friends and wrenching indoors:
Grease Rag is this Thursday, May 5th!
(This event takes place the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month)
The Group Ride is on!
Meet at 6pm, roll out at 6:10. Meet up at the bottom of the Greenway ramp that meets up with the West River Road. I'll be sitting on the bench with the metal shoes. The ride is a beginner's ride, mostly trail, with a bit of road. We will end up at Sunrise Cyclery around 7. Sound off if you're coming!
After the group ride, we get down to the wrenching!
Meet at Sunrise Cyclery (901 W. Lake St. at Bryant Ave.) at 7PM, wrenching ends at 9PM. (BYOB, there are sometimes treats!)
Last Grease Rag was really well attended, I hope you all got some work done! This week I'm going to try to get a new bottom bracket into my single speed. Kim says she is going to change her winter tires and clean her drivetrain. Does anyone else have something they want to work on?
Check out our post on Mothers' Day and contribute something to our "Moms are awesome" post, to be published on Sunday, May 8th. (This is the link to the scheduled post: http://wp.me/pz5TP-u9)
See you later, lovelies!
*"Cinco de Mayo" isn't just about cervesas, amigas. Like most national holidays, it's about war. And like most national holidays, American beer companies saw an opportunity and started promoting May 5th as a drinking holiday, creating yet another "amateur night." Stay safe out there!
