Read this post about how easy it is to host a Full Moon Ride, and how we love having different people lead rides to keep it fresh. Consider leading next month!
If you've never been to a Grease Rag event before, these rides are a perfect opportunity to meet some friendlies and have a good time. We're nice, relaxed people.
When is the Full Moon? October 8
Is there a theme? Pinkies Up Moon!
Where shall we meet, and when? Sunrise Cyclery, 7:00pm. Roll at 7:30pm.
What is the name of the moon? This full Moon is often referred to as the Hunter’s Moon, because as the animals fatten up for the winter ahead, it is time for the hunter to use the light of the moon to stock up on meat. Instead of meat, we'll be stocking up on tea and biscuits.
What time does the sun set? Sunset: 6:42pm
What time does the moon rise? Moonrise: 6:55pm
Who can come on the ride? Everyone is welcome to ride with us! Keep in mind this is a WTF (women/ trans*/ femme) event. No show-boating, oppressive language, or disrespectful behavior will be tolerated. Come to have fun and defer to the WTF leaders and participants, don't come to own/ dominate the space.
How far and how fast is the ride? The ride will be about 12 miles, and will be slow. Dress appropriately! And bring lights. The destination is a secret, but we will land outside. Feel free to bring your own tea and cookies to share!
When is the next Full Moon Ride? Thursday, November 6 is the full moon, but because we have a Grease Rag at Sunrise that night, let's do our ride Friday, November 7th! See you then!
