LGRAB, Summer Games 3- Take a photo of something "summer" along your commute
I am participating in the Summer Games by Let's Go Ride a Bike!
My goal is to complete four challenges before August 8, and I decided to "take a photo of something 'summer' along my commute."
So far I've completed these challenges:
- Read a book (zines!) about cycling
- Went on a group ride
- Wrote a letter advocating for bicycle infrastructure
Looking over the remaining options, it was hard to pick just one challenge. I had a great time in Portland on my bike, but I didn't rent the bike and my vacation was before the contest. Besides, Jen already covered that challenge. I already take my bike or the bus into work every day, so I couldn't try commuting. I wish I knew of a path or greenway that I haven't visited... I will be visiting new parts of the city, but I won't be ready to post that until after the contest is over. And last year I test rode different types of bikes.
I recently solved a little problem I was having with my digital camera, so I figured that I would take a photo of something "summer" on my commute.

I chose to take a photo of the light. Minnesota summers are beautiful and intoxicating and fleeting. Between June and August there are 13 weekends, and people here try to be outside for every one. My commutes in the winter start to take their toll when I wake up in the dark, ride in the dark, and arrive home after dark. But in the summer, when the light is long and bright in the morning, and hot and intense in the evening...
You can't help but want to get up and ride your bike!
