So long, 2010. Howdy, 2011!
Did you have any goals, cycling or otherwise, for 2010? Did you meet them?
I have been following the prompts over at Reverb 10*, and they've inspired me to take some time to reflect on the past year.
My bike goals for 2010 were:
- Get the word out about Grease Rag
- Become more involved with the Grease Rag blog with the purpose of creating a community and a WTF resource online
- Ride my bike more
- Go bike camping/ bike touring
- Build a wheelset
Not that I put that much conscious effort into achieving my goals, but I did pretty well! More people are finding out about the Grease Rag every day: The Minneapolis Presents calendar has a lot to do with the buzz, mplsbikelove.com, and word of mouth. Word of mouth= YOU. Thank you! As for my blogging goals, I hope that majority of the posts on the blog over the past few months have been helpful and inspire you to ride your bike. I still have a long way to go as far as figuring out what and how to write to you all. Working on it. =]
I definitely rode my bike more this year than I have ever before. I don't count miles, but I know that I've gone further and pushed my limits more than I have in the past. Nothing has so consistently made me feel confident, healthy and happy like riding a bike has. This habit isn't going away anytime soon.
I wasn't able to build a wheelset, although I was able to help out and observe a wheel being built. Next year...
Do you have goals for 2011? I usually come up with them as the year rolls along, but this is what I have right now.
- Get the word out about Grease Rag
- Become more involved with the Grease Rag blog with the purpose of creating a community and a WTF resource online
- Ride my bike more
- More bike camping/ bike touring
- Build a wheelset
I'm a simple person, with simple goals, haha. I might add that I want to learn something new about my bike. This year I changed my brake cables, maybe next year I will overhaul my headset without supervision?
Happy New Year to you all,
Lowrah
* For a fun time, make all of the prompts bike-/ WTF-related.
