League of American Bicyclists and the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, in partnership with Women on Bikes SoCal and Pro Walk Pro Bike, are hosting the first-ever National Women's Bicycling Summit to be held in Long Beach, CA on September 13, 2012.  

It looks like the program is nearly final, and will include a keynote address from Leah Missbach Day, co-founder of World Bicycle Relief, and six break-out sessions, on topics like equity and car-free families.  Which topics are you most interested in?

I would like to attend this summit, and report back what I learn, as well as spread the word about what we are doing here, in the Twin Cities.  If I can come up with some money, I'm as good as there!

Registration is $35, plane fare is $430, so my goal is to fundraise $470.

Fine print:  I am asking for money because I would really like to attend this Summit to spread the word about Grease Rag and see what other people are doing for women cyclists.  I want to bring back what I learn to hopefully expand programming and bring new ideas to GR.  I don't think it is fair for me to take Grease Rag funds to pay for something that only one person can attend, so I am asking for additional donations to fund my own trip.  I think this is important enough to take vacation time at my day job, and I hope you think it is important enough to give me some money.  If you have any questions at all, please ask.  After I collect my goal amount, I will take away the button on this page and refund all donations made after the goal.  Thank you thank you thank you thank you.  Thank you.
