Train to NOLA
Hi Friends,
I am thrilled to tell you that I'm going to be taking the train to New Orleans this morning, with my bike, my panniers, and a lavender-scented eye pillow. I haven't done a train trip since I was a kid, I've never traveled with my bike on a train, and this will be my first time in Louisiana. I will be meeting my family down there for the weekend and then I will be left to ramble on my own for a few days.
Is there anything bikey that I MUST do in New Orleans? Any ride you're particularly fond of? I'm open to suggestions!
I plan on visiting Plan B Community Bike Project while I am there. SO SUPER BUMMED that I won't be in town for their weekly LTS (ladies trans sissies) night, but what can you do.
I'm disappointed that I'm going to miss TWO Grease Rag events (3/13 in NE and 3/15 in Uptown) in the time that I am gone. Boo. Maybe you could post a digital postcard of some WTFs wrenching! That would be swell.
Wheel Sexy's closing performance is TONIGHT! I wish I could be there to party with all you wheel sexies!
I realize I will only be gone for a week and it is very silly that I am writing like I'm going to pedal across Rawanda or something epic, but I always get sentimental when I leave home!
I'll come back with photos, words, and big hugs for Minnesota.
Bike love,
Low
