WTF 100: Stillwater to Falling Water to Rushing Water

By : Lowrah · June 23, 2015

The Rapha 100 is an event where "women" pledge to ride 100km/62.1mi on Sunday, July 26.

Grease Rag is hosting the WTF 100: Stillwater to Falling Water to Rushing Water

  • IF you identify as WTF (women, trans, femme) you are welcome on this ride.
  • IF you can ride 40 miles, you can FOR SURE do this distance!
  • IF you have gears on your bike, you'll have it a little easier than climbing some of these hills on a single speed.

Things we have

A plan. A route. A bike in working order. A practice ride on Wednesday, July 22.

The plan

On July 26, WTFs will ride leaving from the Seward Co-op, biking at a moderate pace (13-16 mph). We will have some water, bathroom, and snack stops, a lunch stop (at a grocery/deli), a beer stop shortly after, an ice cream stop on the way home, ending at Gold Medal Park. What a day! The plan is to take most of the day and spend time with each other on a WTF-only ride.

Things you need to bring

Water, sunscreen, snacks, a smile, bike in good working order, some cash/money if you want to buy lunch and snacks, and an extra tube in case you get a flat!

Things we need help with

Someone to lead a practice ride
Day-of help: Such as some friendly WTFs to help keep the group together, someone to greet folks as they arrive. I would love some back-up mechanical support in case someone gets a flat- I'll have some things but it is always nice to have more help
***Please let me know if you're interested in helping out!***

Practice rides

Want to practice? Just want to ride more? No problem.

Ride option #1:

The Hub Bike Co-op has a weekly WTF ride!  These weekly rides are lead by Loretta and are moderate to fast-paced, road-oriented rides with a no-drop format. Expect rides to be between 15 and 20 miles long, with a pace of 15 to 18 mph. Every Wednesday at 6p, 3020 Minnehaha location.

Ride option #2:

We will meet at the Hub on Minnehaha on July 22 at 6p for a ride that is WTF only, and is a little bit slower than the Hub rides, but about the same length.

Ride option #3:

Post your own ride on the Facebook event wall! It doesn't have to be anything fancy. It's a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and ride together!

RSVP and follow the event on Facebook
